Welcome

Paul says we Christians are running a race. Here's what I'm looking at on my run toward Christ.

Reasons Jesus Came to Die

Easter is this Sunday and Good Friday is just two days away.  I want to use this time to continue to explore reasons Jesus came to die.  These reasons are from pastor John Piper and the Bible.

1) Jesus came to die to reconcile us to God.

Romans 5:10 "For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by His life.'

2) Jesus came to die to bring us to God.

1 Peter 3:18 "Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God."

3) Jesus came to die so that we might belong to Him.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "You are not your own, for you were bought with a price."

4) Jesus came to die to give us confident access to the holiest place.

Hebrews 10:19 "We have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus."

5) Jesus came to die to become for us the place where we meet God.

John 2:19-21 "Jesus answered them, 'Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.' The Jews then said, 'It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?'  But He was speaking about the temple of His body."

Remember the story and reason around this week's celebrations.  This is called Holy Week for a reason.  Think about God's sacrifice for you.  "You are not your own, for you were bought with a price."  Meditate on that today.
